Anne's IntermittentroPolis

I prefer to keep my reviews short but I can't guarantee them to be sweet. I don't mind discussing, analyzing, or raving but I'm just an inherently lazy writer/reviewer.

The Odyssey - Homer, Robert Fagles, Bernard Knox 3.5 stars I love Greek myths. And this book just made the gods and immortals spring to life. Unfortunately, I only got to see glimpses of a couple of them and they were not as magnificent as I thought they would be. There was a lot of lingering over pointless elements of the story (such as descriptions of Ulysses's buffness and gleaming muscles) but I read this in prose version so I shouldn't complain. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this. I'll definitely be reading The Iliad on my own time.
