I prefer to keep my reviews short but I can't guarantee them to be sweet. I don't mind discussing, analyzing, or raving but I'm just an inherently lazy writer/reviewer.

The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini 3.5 stars is an all-around middle number for me. It must mean something if I stayed up til 3:30 AM to finish this book but again, that may just be my stubbornness. I feel extremely conflicted about this book since it's my first dabble with Hosseini. Overall, it was an interesting experience but I lacked greatly in Muslim culture and knowledge which proved fatalistic in my enjoyment of this book. If there was a reference guide in the back, I'd perhaps have a greater advantage and enhancement of my knowledge. Of course, I could've just googled all those foreign terms scattered throughout the novel like confetti but it's too much effort. In the end, I just felt ignorant and just like Hassan being ridiculed by Amir for his stupidity. For goodness's sake, help us out!
