I prefer to keep my reviews short but I can't guarantee them to be sweet. I don't mind discussing, analyzing, or raving but I'm just an inherently lazy writer/reviewer.

Airman - Eoin Colfer Can I say that I love steampunk without having read many steampunk related books? It's more that I love Airman, Eoin Colfer can always write a kick-ass fun book. It was pretty different this time. Airman was mostly depressing and sad and I felt barely satisfied at the end. It wasn't a super happy ending, not that I expected it to be. The villain was extremely twisted and I had wanted to throw this book at the wall when the conspiracy succeeded. Of course, I didn't because I wanted to know more.
I had a tiny problem with the book however: Maybe it was just me but I felt that I was merely watching events unfold before my eyes and time pass. Not to say, it was entertaining but I couldn't grasp the characters' emotions. I could relate to them perfectly well and even empathize. Maybe it's not just Colfer's specialty to deal with sensitive feeling but whatever, I digress.
I seriously love that the ending wasn't a truly happy ending. It was more of where everyone is going to go for more adventures. That just leaves the readers hanging. Is that good? I DON'T KNOW, YOU TELL ME. But it will be absolutely fantastic if a second book was written. I don't care, it can even be a companion novel! Just write something with Conor and the others in there! Nevertheless, Airman was intrepid alone by itself.
