Anne's IntermittentroPolis

I prefer to keep my reviews short but I can't guarantee them to be sweet. I don't mind discussing, analyzing, or raving but I'm just an inherently lazy writer/reviewer.

Destroy Me - Tahereh Mafi For some reason, Warner reminds me of Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights and they both have anguished pasts. Is it strange to say I love how both of them are portrayed as awry anti-romantic heroes? It's fun knowing a person's thoughts so intimately and it really brings a whole new dimension to a great character. This is wayyy better than Shatter Me. From the start, Ms. Mafi should've written the trilogy in Warner's POV. He's levelheaded, very strange but intriguing and the main drive for the plot. He's got layers of feelings and many demons to conquer and it's so refreshing to encounter an 'antihero' who's fallen in love with his archenemy. Juliette is hardly a reliable sane girl who is easily forgotten despite her remarkable talents. Hopefully, Unravel Me will contain minimal metaphors and more of Warner's practical views towards the Reestablishment.
